BLRS Conferences
The Society sponsors and co-sponsors a variety of conferences, crossing the full spectrum of subjects that lie within the field of land reclamation, with themes such as:

BLRS Events and Site Visits
The BLRS annually organise a large number of field trips and site visits for its members and other interested parties to locations across the United Kingdom. Past examples include:


Two day visit to South Wales co-ordinated by the Welsh Development Agency. This trip included visits to; The Barry Dock Regeneration Scheme hosted by Associated British Ports; Rhoose Point Reclamation Scheme (hosted by Blue Circle); Upper Garw Land Reclamation Scheme (hosted by Bridgend County Borough Council); The Pelenna Minewater Remediation Project (hosted by Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council) and Reclamation of the Felindre Steelworks (hosted by Swansea City Council).
The Gas Research and Technology Centre in Loughborough. The visit looked at the technology being developed for the investigation, treatment and monitoring of contaminated land (including bio-technology remediation processes). Hosted by BG Technology.
Mountsorrel quarry near Loughborough. Despite this quarry being known as \"The largest granite quarry in Europe\" the operators have won the industry\'s prestigious Environmental Award and its premier Gold Award. The visit considered the full range of operations at the quarry including landscape restoration. Hosted by Lafarge Redland Aggregates.
The Mersey Forest (England\'s largest Community Forest). The trip examined how forest partnership creates community woodlands from areas of derelict and under-utilised land. Hosted by The Mersey Forest Organisation.
